When will your company be introducing more freight cars other than flats with loads? Also, what well be the next "O" Gauge track pieces released by your company and how soon will that be. Take care and have a wonderful and safe day. Thank you.

Jim,

We will have more freight cars that will be popping up within the next month or two. We don't like to talk about things that haven't arrived yet but we are very excited!

If everything goes according to plan, all of our tubular track offerings will be arriving in early December.

Has anyone else seen this? Wondering if it was only in the Dayton, OH area (near colorado hirailer). If so, which flat cars are they? The newly improved ones? Thanks for any info.

James,

Jim is correct, the flatcars without loads are $7.99 in our stores. Selection may vary by store but the 4 new road names are Wisconsin Central, Pennsylvania, BNSF and Union Pacific. Although they are not available individually online, we do sell them by the case. A case includes 6 of each road name.

To answer the second part of your question, we have listened to feedback on the forum and I assure you, the couplers have been greatly improved.

Is the new sauerkraut building going to be available to be ordered from the internet again?

ogaugeguy,

From the looks of it, the sauerkraut factory is still available. Here is the link.

Mark, it looks like it's not available. It says "not available online," and all stores show "special order only" and they say their computer shows it's not available.

All,

The sauerkraut factory has sold out in a flash. It's our most popular building so far and sales are probably being influenced by the time of year as well. We are busy producing our next batch and we hope to have them soon. However, the detail and intricate handwork that the artisans put into our buildings makes production a painstaking task that is hard to hurry.

As always, we do not accept preorders.

I do not know if it is a second run, I came across it last night when I was checking out the Cyber sale at Menards, so I would pounce on it now just in case it is a few they had left. Maybe Mark will chime in to say what exactly it is.

All,

Due to their overwhelming popularity, we had a small quantity of both the Fire-Damaged Engine House and Herman’s Sauerkraut Factory sent via air from China. Although this is an expensive means of transportation, we thought it was important to get them right away because we wanted you to have an opportunity to receive these beautiful buildings in time for Christmas.

As I mentioned above, we received only a small quantity of these beautiful buildings and we fully expect to sell out. As always, orders will be taken on a first come, first serve basis so order yours today!

Thank you,

I bought several of the flat cars from Menards. I kept one the way it came. The others I took the trucks off of. I used the trucks to convert some Marx cars over to have Lionel style couplers. I will say though, I am disappointed with most of them. The couplers let go if you put too many cars in your consist. I was however, happy to see train stuff in Menards. At least one of the big box stores is carrying O gauge stuff these days.

While I am finishing up kitbashing a Lionel tub pickle car, as I was searching pickle

cars, I discovered somebody made an HO kit to turn an HO flat car into a pickle car.

Now, with a Menard's flatcar, towel or toilet paper cardboard tubes, stripwood to cut

into planks for the tubs (as I just did), and decals (or worse yet, press-ons) you can create a Menard"s or whomever's pickle car for it.  (I may just do that, to get

another car at the plant, and I wanted one lettered for my plant's other product,

"Pikes Peak Sweeties" (sweet pickles).  For those in the frozen north, I found out

there is (was?) a pickle plant like the Menard's could be, up in Ontario.

The Sauerkraut building is/was available at the gigantic Menard's store in Morton Grove, Illinois today a 07:45, December 10, 2015.

Also saw the engine house, the track, flat cars.

I did a quick check of the track, the mottled look was not that bad. No opinion on how the tracks works. The pins looked different than Lionel, K-Line, etc.

Almost bought the flat car with helicopter, but then I remembered my personal rule, my Christmas present gets bought last. The trucks on the longer flat cars have the hidden tab with the metal plate, in a fashion similar to high end cars or postwar Lionel extruded aluminum passenger cars.

Being from New Jersey I would hope the next structure is a Pork Roll Packing Plant or Taylor Ham as it is known around here.

The Sauerkraut building is great and should be easily modified.
