I have an idea to take a Dummy FA Unit and swap bodies with a Powered FA unit with tethers and all. The powered unit is just motor, tether couplers etc.
How difficult would it be to do this sort of work? That way I think it will be two powered A units instead of one power, one dummy.
A second question would be related. Any powered B unit chassis? Or did MTH make sure that no B units are available for power?

Not quite sure what you are referring to, as the MTH Premier A-B-A Alco FA sets have BOTH A units powered. In fact GNNPNUT, has his Great Northern Alco FA's over just last weekend and the ran great (PS-2), and are currently for sale on the OGR For Sale or Trade board.
Mine were the old Railking with PS2 sound.
Does the dummy unit have all the necessary gearing? I've never owned a MTH dummy but my Atlas GP9 dummy didn't have the power transfer gear assembly (the shaft with the gear that goes between the 2 axle gears)
