Consider this to be just a "heads-up"...

In addition to the two seminars that I'll be conducting next month at York, "Introduction to DCS WiFi" and Advanced DCS Features and Functions Using the DCS WiFi Application" MTH will be also be conducting a new seminar  entitled “Transitioning DCS to WiFi”, and will discuss the following topics:

  • Importing the DCS Remote’s contents into the DCS Application
  • Importing and exporting the DCS Application’s contents between different smartphones and tablets
  • Updating the firmware in the WIU and the DCS Explorer.

All three seminars will require pre-registration and will be on Thursday afternoon in the Orange Hall conference room. Details will follow in an upcoming MTH weekly eNewsletter.

See you at York!

Mark,

hopefully these seminars can be videotaped and made available on youtube.

That would be entirely up to MTH.

Gerry,

IMO, seminars when the halls are open waste valuable time.

Believe it or not, many come to York for reasons other than buying trains 24 X 7.

Besides, how can you even consider that listening to me talk about DCS could possibly be a waste of time?

I am one Barry is speaking of in that my two primary reasons for going to York are to meet friends and learn about the hobby.  Seminars and the OGR meeting are major factors in my attendance.  With my arthritis I have turned from a guy who could hike all day long to one who is glad to sit down for an hour here and there.

Gerry, I agree with you that many folks are there to "walk, see, schmooze and buy".  I do see Barry's point that MTH has to make the decision to video or not since the seminars are about their products.

Barry,

I cannot wait for your DCS Seminars. As Mark Bouce stated "Seminars and the OGR meeting are major factors in my attendance." However, when will the

sign-up for the same become available through MTH, or should i call MTH directly? Until then, I am enjoying reading the latest and greatest DCS WiFi 2nd. Edition Companion.

I Thank you In Advance For Your Responce On This.

I could use that WiFi info. Hooked up WiFi to my layout yesterday and although trains are running, I do have some questions (likely related to things I did wrong).  Supposedly upgraded the App to Premium version (and was billed for it...maybe even more than once), but I'm not sure I got what I am supposed to get on both my iPhone and my Verizon Ellipsis tablet (want to be able to run trains with either/or). Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the learning experience!
