Ive had some ppl ask me about doing a special run of Green Mountain. This is possible, but need to get 30 orders to break even. There would be 2 road numbers. Cost would be about 510. per engine (559.95 retail) If u are interested, LMK. U can email me at pdt212@gmail.com if u want to.
I get a lot of requests for special runs, and the problem is always the same.....someones says "if u do this special run, I'll buy 1". Well. its tougher to sell 29 more engines than u think. There are SO MANY CHOICES out there, and 500 bucks is not pocket change.
Or if u have any other ideas...feel free. I love doing shortlines and stuff that no one else would do. Like Dover and Delaware River, or Ann Arbor,
Or other possibilities are Maine Central in the early (as delivered) green scheme, or BAR in blue or the circus colors...WP in silver or green/orange, or Reading in the early drab green. Personally I'd love to do Santa Maria Valley (would never sell many) or SP bloody nose (been done a million times) . SP GP-9's are so iconic. but i think everyone who ever wanted one has one already..... IDK.....just seems that way....
but i need commitments of 30 pieces or so to make something a go. My cost to do a special run of a premier engine is about 17K. SO u can see that selling just a dozen, is a big money losing proposition....
