MTH remake of Lionel 262

One more question I forgot to ask. Never having a MTH type engine How do I know if this is the conventional version or the Proto 3 version. I thinking Conventional as I did put power to it and it went forward and backwards as it should ( 2' test track ) but I heard nothing. How can I get a manual for this engine? I took a tiny bit of super glue and was able to put the draw bar back on and so far it appears it will hold fine. 

Super glue works fine, JB Weld or Gorilla Glue (two part mix) works better.

Jeff Kane, The  Train Tender,  sells a repair pilot that you can epoxy to frame. The part # is 262E-RPE

Thanks The super glue did fine on the Draw bar, I ordered a front cow catcher from Olsen's, saw it on the bay for $9.91 so I ended up paying about $5 more Oh well it happens.

With no DCS a Proto 2 or 3 will go forward and backwards. There is a pot to turn the sound off. For conventional the motor will say Bild a Loco. Contemporary Proto Drive. 

Thanks Jim, I think I ruled it to be a conventional one which I'm good with. It beats both of the last two 262's I have gotten in ( but they were prewar) Both were candidates for parts.
