Have decided to build this layout using scaletrax. If anyone is familiar with this layout is there a way to isolate it so I can run 2 trains at once with all the track tied together as the diagram shows. Everything will be powered up from a z-4000. Sorry no pics of the layout yet. Thanks for any help. JPonz

Adding isolating joiners on both sides of the crossover would allow a switcher engine to operate the inside with a separate train on the outside loop.
Thanks for posting the diagram. Want to eliminate the 2 sidings at the top & put the 2 track hellgate there instead. Are there isolators available for the scaletrax crossover? Would I then power the inside loop from track 2 output on the z-4000. Thanks so much for the reply. JP

I sure liked your track plan. Nicely done!!!!
To Isolate Scaletrax:
Put a bit of electrical tape on the center rail contact and on the end of the rail prior to joining. This isolation can be removed easily.
Hook it up and verify open with a multimeter.
You could also just slot the rails with a dremel cut off wheel but that is permanent.
