i hav some mth track with 2 switch tracks, i disconnected the power to the switches, the train runs fine till it hits the first switch then it looses power. Any advice would be a big help.

Not sure what you mean, disconected power. Do the switches have the small brass jumper? That will enable track power to the switch. If you have the jumper, test your contacts and continuity. Contacts are on bottom of switch, and sometimes don't make a connection. Test for power with a test light or meter to see which rails don't have power.
