I have a similar idea for my shop. Designing my layout to be storable during the summer months when the Trans Am is being used.
Only parking for trains
Track plan provides of a great use of platform space.
Looks like it will provide for a lot of operational diversity.

Nice, I like it. I have a 9 1/2' by 16' layout in my Garage. It only takes up one stall but with everything else I have in the garage I don't park the car in the garage as well. I have a few friends with 3 car garages and I envy them. But they don't do trains, a rear commodity in Florida.
