Has anyone who has looked at Charles Ro's Christmas catalog price list noticed that it contains a #L25963 "Christmas Story 30th Anniversary Boxcar," which is not pictured in the catalog or on the HTML product list on Lionel's website? (This is not to be confused with the #L25977 "Leg Lamp" display car which is pictured in the catalog.)

Yep. Ordered one right away (sight unseen, of course). We are big Christmas Story fans, originally from Cleveland where much of the movie was shot.
We already have the set, of course.
"Oh fuuuddggge!!! But I didn't say fudge."
Ron, I want to both thank and curse you for this topic. I was happily going through life totally ignoring the Christmas catalogs, and now this. My wife and I are both big fans of the movie, and even visited the house in Cleveland a few years ago.
I'll have to call Charlie in the morning and order the set and both cars. There goes $380. Thanks for opening this can of worms.
I'm a big fan of the movie, but I've never seen the need to buy Christmas Story themed trains. I would eventually like to get a full-size leg-lamp, though.

Not a problem! Available here...

...and from other sources.
I have a smaller version on permanent display on my desk here at home.
The Christmas Story 30th Anniversary boxcar is listed on the forms which dealers recieved with the 2013 Holiday catalog. Also on the forms were some corrections
to the catalog such as the item numbers for the Angela Trotta Thomas items.
If I recall correctly, I think it said something about the photo being added to the Lionel website but so far its not there.
I think the Christmas Story set, no longer is cataloged, was a disappointment from a price, feature & deco standpoint. The most glaring rip-off was the non-operational gondola. Given the set's premium price, couldn't Lionel have made the gondola operational with Ralphie's dad chasing the neighbors' dogs or something? Seems like all the cost-cutting bucks went to pay for product rights.

I was disappointed in it also, I did not look well at all. But I have purchased the new boxcar and the lamp car. I have the small leg at work, wife will not let me display it here at home, women!
Will not shot myself in the eye over that set!

One of my neighbors has that lamp. I see it at Christmas time when I'm walking my dog and it cracks me up. Don't feel the need for the boxcar though.
I just checked Lionel's website and did not see this 30th anniversary car listed on the products page. I wonder when the car will be posted?
