I have a Lionel N&W 1218 A w/ the TMCC Aux Water Tender. I have to admit, I have just stopped trying to lashup TMCC equipped engines. DCS, no problem. TMCC, I've never been able to get it to work. The Engine # for the 1218 is "18". What would happen if I also set the tender address to "18". I'm thinking that the rear coupler wouldn't work, but maybe the backup light would. Am I on to something?

Worse case I can continue to drag it around "dumb".

Is the engine Legacy?  If it's TMCC I'm not sure what the issue is as I use one with my TMCC J without a problem.

You can add a switch to your existing tender to enable/disable the coupler and backup light, that way you could address them the same without issues.  When you turn the switch on, the tender lights/coupler work, when it's off, they're disabled and the aux tender would still have the lights/coupler.  Simple mod.

Thank you. Great idea, that's what I was looking for. I never run the 1218 w/o the aux water tender anyway.
