Is there a hidden secret for reversing the forward direction of a Legacy 6-28360 GP-7? Runs short hood forward, I would like long hood forward. I know I could rewire it, but it seems this would be a common request that would warrant some magic keystrokes.

Well, it'll take quite a bit of rewiring. You have to reverse the motors, and also the lighting. I don't know of any magic keystrokes. I guess you could configure it as a one-unit MU and reverse it, that should work.
This question has been asked at a few LUG meetings. As John noted there are no current settings to have an engine work this way. I would have to go back through the answers from JonZ to see what the response was on whether they would consider this.
Yes, what John said will work.

Why not just lock it in reverse or if in legacy just hit reverse after start up.

That's what I do, but it still leaves the coupler controls reversed. ( I know, it's a little thing, but it's my version of "rivet-counting!")
I figured that with all the do-dads in Legacy, reversing the "forward" direction would be a no-brainer. I guess not.
Thanks to all for your input.
Why can't you make it a Single unit MU as the lead unit in reverse and than use the MU ID to run it. G
Yes, I will try that.
Thanks again.

Hmm... I think someone suggested that yesterday.

That's all I could think of as far as doing it from the remote.
