Need help quieting a postwar tender | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have cleaned up this tender, cleaned the brushes. I took the whistle off, and it is clean inside. The relay seems to work fine. It still has this weird screechy kind of noise off and on. I know these aren't ever quiet, but it's a different sound from the motor running. Any ideas? I have tried holding things with my finger to stop things from vibrating but it seems to be in the motor. Do the motors just get so much slack that they make this noise?

Maybe a dry bearing. The lower bearings are notoriously difficult to get lubed correctly.

Yes. Go in here with a needle oiler.
