i have always had a small layout (4x8). i now have an 11x8. so i was hoping some of you guys with the track software could give me some ideas.

L-shape, around the walls, big flat table? What track system? How many main lines? Switching or loop running? Here's my 12x8 L-shape layout.

It's a big flat table. I will be using Ross switches and gargraves track. I like to switch more than just run loops so. Switching is what would work better for me. I would like to have two mains. One of which I want to be 0-72 if at all possible just so I could have engines like the em-1. Thanks for your help.
joker34, how about giving us some dimintions of your space. Your selection of gargraves track and Ross switches if a very good start.
