Take a picture of the top of the bare motherboard with sufficient resolution so we can see the version ID.
The size of the tether is an installation detail, you can add stuff like cab lights that aren't in the standard installation. Since this was already in a locomotive, you need to trace out each wire and match them to the instructions I sent you to see what they're driving with each wire.

this alittle different from the one from the instruction you sent me..plus the plugand wires are in different places from the ones in the instructions..heres another pics of it,,left side is the one facing the tender..tried to get ahold of Mike reagan..with no luck..
Looks like a cruise board. All the white pin connectors are marked for their use.

It has a different layout than my EOB board that I have here. However, I've attached the instructions that seem to match the connectors on your board, and it appear to be the EOB board you have.
If it is the cruise board, you'll need the tach sensor board as well, did you get one of those? It's a small board with a three pin plug on it, it has a couple of chips and the sensor on the other side, also a surface mount LED for calibration and testing.
In the future, I recommend higher resolution photos so you can see details more clearly.
BONGO!!!! Bill your was very close..But john you got it!!! Your the man!! thanks buddy!!..form the looks I can add cruze switch ...On the AC + and- input side they have the rear markers lights comming out of that plug too...Questions So this mean I have a Cruise comand setup with Railsounds? No this didnt come with tach sensor board..But can I get one to work with this?
Actually, TAS (Train America Studios) was a totally different and now defunct company, it's not ERR. The Cruise Commander uses the motor back-EMF to sense speed, it has no tach sensor. Odyssey I and II use a different scheme as well.

its a 2 wire setup and 5volts out put..
can i run this on mth dcs? or do I get the lionel cab1? and what all do i need?
The only way to run any TMCC equipped locomotive with the DCS system is in conventional mode unless you connect either a TMCC or Legacy command base to the TIU.

so this tells me im cheaper off to just get a cab1 base package?I want to get by with the lesser cost system..
For TMCC, that's currently the cheapest, and I see a CAB1/Command Base right now in the for-sale forum.

thats last on my list.. remember I need to get parts from you first then mth and lionel..could I run on conventionmal mode? to test it out,or do I need the cab1?
You can run in conventional mode, but you may need command to actually perform the installation steps like setting the parameters. I never installed one of these in conventional mode, never occurred to me to try.
I have a tack reader board and tape. Contact me off line if you still need this. BF
where can I buy male and female wire conectors at?want to find 3 and 4 wire males..John id gone threw that replacement board the guy sent me.. man the wirring setup is all not wright to the instrutions..going to buy the MTH 10 pin male and female teather conectors...john it does have engine headlights conctors too..should I do it?
Josey, I'm not sure what you're asking regarding headlights. The TAS board feeds through the standard R2LC headlight, taillight, and smoke/strobe outputs to the I/O connectors. Obviously, it's desirable to use these for your lighting as it'll allow you to have directional lighting and control the lights from the remote. I'm assuming the smoke output will be used for the smoke unit.
The lighting outputs are 12VDC negative in respect to frame ground, but you should have diode protection if you use LED's to avoid reverse polarity.
