I do have anyrail program, but it seems hard to use, but I need to play with it.  so for now, im just going to figure out some curves.  I would like to do curves with a letter E shape so you can walk around the 3 sections.  ive seen some of these in track planning magazines.  Ill have to post up something that im thinking about.  I rather not have access holes and just be able to access all parts of the layout.  so il be foolingaround with different ideas.  then ill give the track planning software a try.  I do want to do 054 curves.  im using Realtrax solid

Hi Chris D,

Here's something I tossed together in SCARM to help you visualize your ideas. A 30" wide around the wall with an opening in the center for peninsulas etc. Lionel FasTrack (cause I know it) using 084 outside, 072 inside, 3.5" from outside edge, 6" center rail to center rail spacing.

A 30" lift section on the end near the door and still maintains the walk-around as you designed it.

The track allows the big engines to run. With 072 switches and wyes to create access to a peninsula and changing mainlines.

You can reach everything and minimizes areas to scenic.

You don't really need a big solid space for the effect.

The SCARM file is attached.

Have fun!

Oh that's super cool! Free is good  I just picked up 28 pieces of o54 solid rail.  I'm looking to do maybe some rounding multi curved bench work so I can have access without a ton of access holes. But I'll have to see if I can work o54 with the space I have.  I can play with this sOft ware

taking a look at louis's layout, id like to build a multi level and curved look like his.  my old one you can see on youtube "link below" was basic and in the living room.  but this time I want to see what I can really do in design.   I have some time as I still need to finish out the garage.  just bought 8 sheets of drywall to do my cealing, wired up for lighting already.  so thats first.  but ill be building come February.

ill download the scarm and see what I can come up with!  thanks again
