I've been browsing around and found this tubular track. I have started getting fastrack, but I know this tubular track would be more durable and quieter. What kind technically is this? I want to transfer my current layout plans to this kind to see if what I still need would be more expensive than to switch to tubular.

They have a ton of cheap o gauge track!!!
They are into O gauge trains and began having their own brand manufactured a few years ago as well as cars and accessories. It is good quality.

Just because you can purchase track cheaply does not mean you will like working with it. IMO stick with the FasTrack, use some kind of sound suppression and Run Both Legacy for the incredible Command Control switches add DCS to run both and make some great layouts.

I say go for it. With this you don't need to buy that special piece of track. O gauge can be cut to fit without any problems. I prefer O gauge track where you have some who prefer Fastrack, or MTH realtrac. Anything can be made to be quieter but Fastrack will always be hollow underneath and be noisier than O gauge. Now the down fall to Ogauge you need to do your own balisting. I have both O and Gargraves track with ross switches for the Gargraves track.
Don't forget Menards doesn't make switches, you will have to use Lionel O switches which i believe cost more than Fastrack switches. (and in my opinion, don't work as well as Fastrack switches.)
The Menards track is extremely similar to Lionels tubular O (thicker/taller than O-27)
