I'm into N Scale but this is pretty funny and I can't see how someone would have missed this.

Oops.......................Now that made me chuckle
Ditto.
what??
Not all that uncommon for a factory slip unfortunately....; I once had a new LTI #18301 TM diesel arrive missing half it's handrail assemblies. Back in those days, they actually had the parts to complete the shell; your results may vary.
That's more the type of error people used to (maybe some still would) pay money for as a variation or error. (wonder if it was the only one or maybe there are a few sets of them out there?). It's definitely not across the whole production run, and it's just a "miss" on decoration, not a random scratch, broken piece, etc.
That assumes it is in decent shape otherwise and not suffering from any of the quality type issues thoroughly documented in the other threads.
Come on. It’s a kit. There should be a RED sharpie in the box so you can add the rest of the name.
It is a real rare item, must be worth a trillion gazillion Bitcoins.
Lionel left off six words (2 x 3) on a whole set back in 1998.
All it did was diminish the appeal of set 6-17246.
Of course this is an old Train Buddies photo to give proper credit.
What, me worry?

Just an interesting bit of trivia taking off on that comment, the Railway Labor Act trumps right-to-work laws for interstate railroads.
Does the other side say "Pacific"?
