Still no luck getting wifi and iPad working

Hi Clem: Have you upgraded your WiFi Interface Unit to 1.1 and your TIU and Remote to 6.0?

This is the link to the 1.1  /  http://mthtrains.com/wiu-11-fi...re-upgrade-available

Clem,

This is an issue I battle all of the time with Apple device that connect to Wi-Fi networks that do not have internet access. Your iPad quickly discovers that the MTH network doesn't provide internet access and start looking for other wireless connections that can.

Follow these instructions from Apple and your ipad should work with the WIU:

1) Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi
2) Select the network you want to join
3) When a check-mark appears next to the SSID, press the "i" button on the right hand side
4) Set Auto-Join however you want, but shut off the Auto-Login switch

The above information is from Apple and can be found here.

Hi Superwarp

Anything with a computer or password  gives me trouble !!  I can't even get the iPad hooked up to my home system. Been on the phone with Apple support for three days and my internet company(frontier) two days.  I knew I would have trouble with this,  this why I took my phone, remotes and TIU down to the MTH dealer repair shop and they steered me though the purchase and setup. That worked, So far IMO the DCS remote is by far better. I'm trying the iPad because forum opinion is the iPad mini is the best for this application. Just need to know what password are they talking about? If I don't like the app, after the iPad. I will sell the app system and just use my remotes. And when the remotes no longer work, I get out of this hobby.
