Postwar turbine echo

i have a postwar turbine that I swear is an echo chamber. As it goes down the track it is just loud echoi from the motor and a metallic vibration. I suspect something is vibrating against the shell as it is dead silent with the shell off. Has anyone insulated a shell? Make a difference?

There should be ware marks somewhere or it could be harmonics of the thing are just right to cause it. A bit of silicone painted onto the mounting points and or thread sealant might be enough padding to make a difference. Washers too. Brass and rubber

Chasing noises like that is trial and error.
