Hey all, I am in the process of laying out track for a projected basement layout using mostly Fast Track and some Lionel tubular track. While I am clearly not a draftsman my crude sketch shows  current measured dimensions of the length of tracks and switches(x).While this  design will no doubt draw negative comments, the approximate size is my basis to decide on adequate transformer power requirement for operation of main loop, single train operation.. I have a few smaller transformers adequate to power independent loop and trolley line.I considered a  MTH Z-100 for main loop, I am running all postwar Lionel and MTH locos, (90’s vintage)some with PS1 capabilities so I need horn/ whistle feature on main transformer . I do have additional Lionel 5906 buttons also.I need to include a track section to power a Bluetooth Thomas train for grandson to run independent of traditional transformer power and also have a few Fast Track 612052 crossing accessories. Anxious to start benchwork so this I a start.IMG_4594

Original Post

One Z4000 instead of messing with all the rest   Any postwar transformer you use doesnt have circuit protection  The Z4000 has the capability to program all your PS-1 engines without hitting the horn and bell a million times   Every output has a circuit protector  The face has Voltmeter and an ammeter  The best transformer around
