Problem with adding engines.

This is a classic symptom of low DCS signal strength.

 Yeah, that sounds like a poor add. I forget if it's from a near dead battery or poor signal strength? I think I've gotten this when the battery in the engine needs charging.

 Matt's idea of a test track set up for adding is a great idea. It helps the remote and keeps things straight. If you add on the main with other engines seeing the signal, some strange things can happen to engines already in the remote. I have had where the new engine starts as requested, as well as another already in the remote.

 So I dis-connect the layout while adding on my test rail track.

Thanks fellas, I will try tethering the remote and TIU and putting in a test track for adding engines. I will also replace the batteries in the remote and in the PS2 engines. As soon as I get back from work I will give an update.

I had this problem on a brand new engine. It turned out to be a bad wire nut connection. The wire from the pick up rollers didn't have good connection.

Update.

 I put in the test track and wired directly to Fixed one and the problem has been resolved. Thanks everyone for your help....

This also occurs when doing an upgrade, if you haven't installed a sound file.  MTH tells me it is a rudimentary program used for board testing.
