Just completed converting a Proto-1 Premier Blue Comet to PS2. Everything works fantastic, all sounds are as expected but one. Whistle sounds like file is corrupted, at first it is clear but then gets louder and distorted. Is this normal for this engine or do I need to reload the PS2 sound package? Multiple times during initial load the software stopped and reloaded at a slower speed. I used sound file for 20-3138-1. Thanks for any responses.

That's not all that unusual and has no bearing on your whistle sound.
I suggest just loading a different sound file to see if that file's whistle appears to sound more "normal".
Well? Where did you get the PS2 board from? Is it new? Taken from something else?
Was this done with an upgrade kit? Do like Barry suggested and throw another file at it. I think you will get lucky doing this. I did a Comet yesterday and used 20-3255-1 and it was a keeper.
I used an unopened PS2 upgrade kit. I'll try a different sound set.
I loaded 20-3255-1 sound file and all is good. Thanks Marty!
