My new cabforward has sounds but won't budge. I tried it in conventional and with the Remote Commander. All my other MTH engines work fine. Any ideas before I have to send it back again?
Thanks,
Bob

You didn't say if you have the regular tiu or only the Remote Commander. For the latter to work, loco must have id #1. Try a factory reset on the loco.
I suggest you move this thread to the DCS forum.
Bob, What conventional transformer do you have? With one that has bell/ whistle button do a conventional reset IAW the instructions. 1W and 5B in rapid succession with 2 toot confirmation it took. Then try to see if it will operate in conventional. G
I am using a z1000. I do not have a tiu hooked up. I will try a reset and get back to you.
I made sure the drawbar was seated properly and all the pins are good. I tried 3 or 4 times making sure the pins and drawbar were in all the way.
Thanks for the quick replies,
Bob
Thanks for all the responses. The reset worked and now it runs fine.
I never experienced that problem before, and appreciate your patience/expertise. What might cause this problem to begin with?
Thanks,
Bob
PS-3 have different memory locations for lock states. So an engne can be run in DCS despite being locked in neutral for conventional. The DCS feature and Factory reset do not clear a conventional lock. So a quirk in the processor firmware design. G
GGG, thanks for explaining that! I will keep for future reference.
SJC, I have never run it with DCS, but MTH service probably did when I sent it in for warranty repair.
