Looking for ideas on how to fix a problem on my 671 turbine.  It stopped running the other day and just sat and buzzed.  Took the body off and the chassis ran fine, put the body back on and it sits and buzzes.  Come to find out that the e-unit lever with the body on will no longer go over far enough to make the unit operate the way it should.  How do I fix this?  I thought of enlarging the space in the shell but the shell is in excellent + shape and am reluctant to do this.  Would putting a washer or whatever between the e-unit and the bracket work or is there a problem with the lever itself making correct contact?  Please help, I love running this loco and would like to get it back in order soon

Thanks

Just a thought, but if it buzzes it sounds as though the e-unit is powered OK.  Could it possibly be one of the wires to the motor has come loose and that when the body is in place it is under some pressure and failing to make contact, but when the body is removed it not under any pressure and contact is restored?

There seems to be an alignment problem with the e-unit all of a sudden.  When the body is off the lever can go into the slot like it is supposed to and the chassis runs like it should.  When the body is put back on the lever cannot go all the way to the right and it doesn't make the connection.  I tried to realign the unit with the screw and it worked for a while and then the lever moved and connection wasn't working right again and it sat and buzzed.  Am thinking of putting a washer or something between the brace and the e-unit so the lever can come over all the way.  Anyone else have any other suggestions?  Thanks

"I messed with the e-unit and realigned it tonite and it stalled out again so I then tried Jumijo's suggestion with the tape and wonder of wonders it is now running great"

Thats what fixed mine too. Make sure the green wire and silver tab is laid as flat as you can make it before putting the cab back on.
