OK, I hope this is a simple question. I know the answers won't be, but I am sure the operators out there have a lot of experience.

I am finishing my basement flooring and this summer will be installing the benchwork for an 11' x 17' layout. I have plenty of Lionel tubular O Gauge track, but I love the look and variety of Gargraves and Ross track and turnouts. I will be running a mix of trains:

Some Lionel Pre-War O

A Lot of Lionel Post-War (including many operating cars)

A Lot of Modern Era

So what's not going to "play nicely" with Gargraves and Ross, especially the turnouts? The Pre-War with the deep flanges? My 1656 with the deep flange? My operating cars with the sliding shoes?
