I've just figured out how to purchase Railmodeller-Pro.  Literally within the past hour.  Now for the question (s).

Can I determine the layout size before I start adding track sections to the layout.  In other words, how do I "draw" the room or table size on the grid ?

More to follow, I'm sure.

Dan, I am a novice also, but there are videos in the RailModeller help system.  I would prefer type-written step-by-step instructions but I haven’t found any yet. But the videos did help.

One thing..... use layers.  I made the table layer 1 and all the track at a specific height in layer 2, and so forth.  And Command-Z (undo) ihas been very, very helpful to me.

I agree, but would like both type written and videos.  I wish they'd get rid of the background music.

So far I see that I can use more than fifty pieces of track to make a layout.  Railmodeller-Express, the free version, had a fifty piece limit.  But if I want to use a Lionel trestle set I cannot see where there are any indications of where the elements are in the track library

I am really frustrated now !   I went to open Railmodeller-Pro that I purchased last night and all I get is Railmodeller-Express.  The layout I started creating last night comes up but the heading at the top of the screen says Railmodeller-Express.  When I try to add pieces it says I have exceeded the 50 piece limit.

If I purchased Railmodeller-Pro in the APP store, why can't I find it on my computer ?

The download from the App Store may have located itself on the Mac's Launchpad. Also look under the applications folder.

To learn the program there are the video tutorials and there is also a written manual which is listed as Railmodeller Pro Help under the help menu.

The software is decently done but like other layout software it takes a little playing with it to get used to it.

If you find something is missing from a library the creator of the app is very good at answering questions. It usually takes no more than 48 hours to hear back. Remember he is in Europe.

Hope some of this helps.

Paul
