Remote question

The new remote will, most likely, work fine with your DS 4.00 TIU. However, 4.00 has a few bugs, one of which can make adding engines problematical. I strongly suggest that you update your existing remote and TIU to DCS 4.20, the latest release. The new 4.10 remote will work fine alongside DCS 4.20 components. Of course, the best thing to do would be to upgrade everything to DCS 4.20.

In any event, I would strongly recommend that you only purchase new DCS devices from an authorized MTH dealer. Otherwise, you won't get an MTH factory warrantee.

Along the same lines, I have a remote showing version 3.1.  Can this remote be used with a new version 4.2 TIU or must it be upgraded first?  Thanks for your help.

No, it will not.

While you cam generally mix DCS 3.x devices with other DCS 3.x devices, it is definitely not a good idea to mix DCS 3.x and DS 4.x devices.

Lots of nice new features, esp going up from 3.1

I Purchased my DCS from a forum member and upgraded it from 3.1 as well.

It was not difficult if you follow the directions precisely.

Beware where you plug in the cables and exactly which cables you use.
