Good morning everybody!
I have recently purchased some Lionel and K-Line cars from a LHS that were on consignment, and I noticed that the previous owner must have had a problem with the couplers opening during operation because the knuckle release tabs have been glued in place using rubber cement.
I don't know how long the cement has been in place, but before I start scraping and scratching, is there an easy way to remove this or should I just have the trucks replaced?
Someday, I'd like to start adding axtra details to my fleet, and possibly switch to 3RS, removing the truck-mounted couplers all together. I'm thinking of just leaving it in place and handle it when I make the transition.
Thanks,
Mario
