Would someone who has experience with one of the layout programs like to take this track plan and tweak it ?   I made a rough drawing using the plastic track planning template.  The table size I have planned is 5x10 feet.  However, it can be made larger if need be.  I am using "O" gauge tubular track with O22 switch tracks.

Note the tracks marked "CUT".  I'm not sure if all of them need to be cut.  I was hoping the track planning software would verify this.  The layout will most likely have access on three sides.  The bottom of the picture will be the front however.

Here's another track plan for a long narrow space, 2'-3" x 16'-0".   It is planned as a switching layout with Lionel operating accessories.  To the left I have created more space for things like the 97 and 164 coal and log loaders.  To the right is where a Lionel transfer table will go.  What are your opinions of this and the layout I posted at the beginning of this thread ?

Hey Dan,

Messed around a bit...

  1. as designed by you requires a 64" wide table. The figure and center crosses prevents putting  half straights at the ends . The coal ramp is too large to fit where you have the question mark
  2. I modified it to fit on a 60" wide table , v2, but that put the coal ramp out of reach. So, I put an uncoupler , to drop a caboose or non-coal cars, then back onto ramp through the switch. I really think you need a straight track before the ramp.
  3. I flipped the v2 plan bring the coal loader within reach, but that may put switches out of reach.
  4. I ended up with only 1 cut piece, red. Too big to fudge. You'll need a tie with some short rails.

Dan,

I don't know where you are putting the accessories, so I am not sure on the space, but how about a left hand turnout in place of the closest curve track leading to a siding right across the front of the table. This way, you have an extra reason for the run-around track, and you might have to do a bit of planning/shuffling of cars on the left front siding to access it.
