Has anyone ever upgraded a Beep to PS2 or 3? I have 2 beeps which I must use together to pull some passenger cars. I would like to upgrade them to work with DCS.
My LHS is willing to sell me a Rugged Rails PS3 steam engine from a set for $125. I thought I would upgrade my beeps with the PS3 system. I realize I would have to replace everything including the motors because I would need the motor with a flywheel.
The lead Beep would be the power unit and I would make the 2nd beep a dummy...essentially performing the function the tender performs on the steam engine. That way I have enough space for everything. Using a PS3 steam for parts would be ideal since it has the tether cable which would be handy on both Beeps.
Any downsides?
