Have you used either Gargraves or Ross switches before? To make the Ross switch heigth compatible will be your first concern. Ross & Gargraves switches are closer to an 027 switch in heigth, so you will need to shim the switch when used with regular tubular track.

Another thing you may have to do is use Gargraves track for about 14 to 18 inches before and after the switch to prevent derailments, at least that is my experiance with Gargraves switches.

If you are looking for switches that are low profile in tubular track, check out RMT Trains.

I know that I had to shim my Gargraves switches for use with Lionel's tubular 042 track, so I am guessing that you would need to shim the Ross switch as well?

Or are Ross switches made differently, the heigth being in question, then Gargraves switches?

I know that you can use DZ Industry DZ-1000 or DZ-2500 switch machine with Gargraves and Ross switches.
