Just wanted to give Lionel’s Service Department a shout out. Cudo's on the  fast turn around fixing my 990.  Apparently the multi function switch was bad. I was told anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. I had it back in my hands in 1 week😛. I had delayed sending it in for over a month. I had just got everything up and running so I didn’t want to kill my joy for a month or more. I know I could have just gone to conventional but I really liked using the 990 remote. Once again, Thank you so much for the help Lionel Service Department.

I had heard some good stories too, so I was hopeful for my case.  I bought a brand new CAB-1L/BASE-1L system, and it wouldn't even perform the initial link up between the remote/base.  Getting a case for it was easy, and the shipping was easy.  The support person said it would be 5-6 weeks.  It's been over 8 weeks since they received it, and other than a receipt confirmation I've heard nothing.  I sent them a nicely worded message through their system if they have a new estimate about a week ago, no reply.

Not much I can do.  I'm glad things are working out for the OP and others though.

Probably a parts issue with the Cab-1L. I had to send in my VL Pennsy boxcar - was shorting right out of the box. Sent it in and it was a quick turnaround as well, just that it sat at the USPS facility for nearly a week before making it to Lionel. Great communication through out the repair process.
