I have lionel 990 legacy control system. I remember reading on the forum signal problem when one track cross overhead of another. can't remember what some of the solutons were. I have a vision line genset that lose the signal intermittently.

The upper track shields the engine on the lower track from the airborne signal. So you have to run a wire connected to the Ground Pin of the Legacy Base power cube and run it under the upper track. The safe and most direct way to do that is to connect the wire to pin #5 of the DB9 connector on the Legacy base.
i "squiggle" the wire from side to side as it goes down the length of track. i believe you can connect it to any earth ground. mine is connected to the ground in the household wiring.
