I see a continued stream of people with the loss of signal, engines flipping out of TMCC into conventional mode, ground plane questions and the like. Let me stress that if you are at your wits end, and have tried everything else, and your signal problems affect practically every locomotive, and you have losts of multi layer tracks and parallel tracks, there is one more thing to try. It is not simple and should be viewed as a last resort. Go over the the Yahoo Groups. Lionel TMCC group( TMCCoperatinggroup ). Post 657 and a few before it. Go to the Files section and look under LINEAR Amp. I designed and built this back in May of 2010. This after two completely failed attempts in 2 different locations to of 2 totally different layouts trying to get TMCC signal issues resolved. I know of at least one other club that has built the device and reported that it solved their problem. In addition to a slight boost in signal strength, this device presents an extreemely good impedance match to the track and reduces standing waves to near zero.

Again this is not a project for the faint at heart. It is a vacuum tube based Linear Amplifier with a hand wound final coil. But it works.
