when I bring my legacy 2-10-4 C&O to a stop I turn the smoke unit off via the cab 2 and the smoke quits, but in about 10 sec smoke starts coming from under the engine. To stop it I have to turn the smoke unit back on. Is the radio board shutting off the fan but not the smoke element?

If I had to guess, this could be residual smoke backing out through the fan holes. If you leave the unit off for a while does it subside?
This is similar to the issue I am having where the main stack smoke is back feeding through the fan for the cylinder steam and out the boiler.
Yes the smoke does quite after about a minute. My fef and 261 do not do this but then they do not vary the smoke output like the one on my new 2-10-4. Also I note that the new smoke unit is more sensitive to track voltage with great smoke with 18 volts but not so hot on 15 volts track voltage.
