I figured out the pairing the Lionel Legacy 990 to my lionel allegheny 2-6-6-6 locomotive. I have read the instructions on how to increase and decrease the smoke output in the Allegheny instructions, but trying to do it on the lionel legacy 990 is very confusing. I do AUX1, AUX1, 9. But once I push AUX1 the screen changes from the numerical screen to a icon screen. Can anyone help me.

Another question, once I got the allegheny locomotive paired with the lionel legacy 990 I went into the info and on the control screen the locomotive is set to TMCC. Can the locomotive be set to legacy or does it have to be set to TMCC?

Thanks for any help.

Just pretend the numbers are there instead of the icons, they mean the same thing.  Oh, and it's AUX1, AUX2, 9 H, then AUX2 again to save the setting.  The 9 is in the same spot on the keyboard.

The L,M,H, buttons are the momentum buttons at the bottom of the remote, they also select smoke volume for TMCC.

You must use CAB1 or TMCC, it won't function with the Legacy engine type.

Thanks for any help.
