We were supposed to have 81% or so "coverage", and I did see it when it was at about 45% - then it got very cloudy (later a heavy rain) so I didn't get to see it fully, though across Mobile Bay to the west I could see that they had clear skies.
So, I want my money back. Who do I e-mail about this? Trauma, I tell you - trauma!
Drove down to Carbondale Illinois and was able to view the entire 2 minutes and 21 seconds of total coverage. That short viewing span was worth the two tanks of gas and 18 hours of driving time. I would do it all over again tomorrow if I could.
If you ever get the opportunity to see a total eclipse... DO IT.
Since we were not in the path of totality (also 81%), we used homemade viewers. We were surprised at how well they worked
I walked out to my back yard here in St. Louis, Mo. to see it. 2 minuets of my life I won't get back.
Right now in indiana we have an eclipse that should last until about 6:30 AM. Gonna see just about as much all night long as some nimrods saw for a brief 2 minutes or so. And the best part is, no special glasses are needed.
what exactly was the big deal???
Probly the same folks that are in on the "global warming" farce.
It rained all morning long, some local flooding, then at 11:30 Independence, Missouri time, the clouds broke open and for the next 2 hours, it was beautiful, kinda erie when it went twilight at the moment of the full eclipse, street lights came on, then it clouded up again and rain and flash flooded areas that afternoon and evening. They say we got 2 months rainfall total in 24 hours. We got 6" at home that night.
The diamond ring effect of the eclipse was awesome also.
GEOJR: You are wrong, sir.
