I started ballasting the upper oval on the King's Gate Central tonight. The ballast really makes the realtrax look even better.

That really looks good! What brand of ballast are you using?

Hi Bob, thank you for you comment, I am using Woodland Scenics coarse blend ballast.
What process did you use to ballast the track? did you weather the track as well?

I masked the center rail on the Mth realtrax & sprayed it Rustoleum Flat Brown, the ties were painted too. I then carefully ballasted & in between the ties. I used a small brush & full strength Elmers glue to do this. Once the track is screwed down, I applied ballast along the beveled edge of the plastic roadbed. Isopropyl alcohol was used as a wetting agent first then Woodland Scenics Scenic Cement was applied with a disposable pipette.
