I am in the process of putting together a Santa Fe stock train to use on the occasions that someone wants to see something at least tangental to area history (I live in central Texas). I do plan to tack a proper Santa Fe caboose on the rear, but I need to repaint the one I've got. I'm planning to repaint mine a dull mineral brown to compliment the Lionel zebra-striped GP-9 that will be pulling the train.
Has anyone stripped the paint off an MTH Santa Fe-style caboose lately, what technique did they use, and how did their efforts work out?
