Morning Steve, very nice job on the cattle car.  Very nice indeed!

I finally finished the Delores Conoco Plant I've been working on for months off and on.  It's the most challenging thing I think I've ever built.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and even more pleased to finally have it on the railroad.  I still need to work up a sign for what is now the Cronin Oil and Fuel Company.  It's named after one of my wife's great grandfathers.  Bo

Bo:  Your scene has a "that could be a real place" feel.  Excellent work.

Steve: I don't know if your style has been evolving or (more likely) it is just what you have chosen to work on lately, but I, too, really like your recent projects that have an "old" but not a "rusting away" look. That car looks like it would fit right in anywhere. Beautiful.

Why do they look like they do?

Basically if you model a certain time frame like the (60’s 70’s) in history along with studying the railcar of that day, it will help understand the modeled look.

Like the stock car, it’s an oldie still operating around the early 70’s, thus the worn boards and surface rust on metal areas look.

Like I always say; “If I just showed all my late model lightly dusted cars, no one would have any interest”

Now how interesting are these?

Finally getting some warm sunny weather I  managed to  get my back drop on to the layout

this is a Walthers HO scale scene, blown to 162 %   the building were trimmed to what I wanted then glued to a cloth material 

I raised this area up and added the stone wall , you see a lot of this type stone work in southeastern ohio .

I"ve been working on the railroad finally! all track wired and operational as of today.
