I just broke this armaturethankson a number 8 locomotive. Can this be repaired or does anyone have a super motor armature they would part with? I think it is SM-16 armature. Thanks!

That can be repaired. Super glue and then JB weld works very well.
If you are going to send it to a pro, please do not try to fix it yourself first. Many things can be repaired by the pros, but someone trying to fix it themselves can make it "unfixable," even by the pros.
I have had several repaired by a repairman. They are available, not too expensive. I wouldn't try gluing it.

Hi Guys, thank you for your advice. Due to a Christmas deadline I ordered a rebuilt armature with using my armature as a core. These armatures in known condition are hard to come by.
If the wires are still intact, I make a new phenolic ring to secure the commentator segments in place.
