We can all take a moment to remember Caleb though we dont know him personally, he is a reminder to all that work in the industry that the very thing that brings us so much joy can in real life, take yours in a heartbeat. conrail john
Very tragic. As a railroader, I'm interested in the circumstances that caused his death. Not very often you have a fatality during a switching operation derail. First thing that comes to mind is the car he was riding on the side of derailed and side-swiped an adjacent obstruction/standing cut of cars/etc.
Only goes to show how important it is to always be prepared for that journey. May he rest in peace!!!
That's always bad. Sometimes they suffer quite a bit before dying, and other times it's instantaneous. Let's hope, for him, that it was the latter.
