what do you think of this for a small switching layout ? It must be able to utilize some trackside operating accessories.

Dan, unless people have the software to open your file, no one will see the design. You need to post a photo if you can.
Dan - Open up the track plan in your software, full screen, and press the alt and print screen keys at the same time. That will create a copy of the screen on your clipboard. Then open the app paint, and hit control and the letter v key together and it will paste it into paint. You can then crop it if you wish, and save it as a jpg.
If you want it as a pdf, insert the picture in a word or PowerPoint document then save that as a PDF.
Steve.....
Let's see if this works. Looks like it did. The layout is in a small space, 3' x 12'. I like operating accessories like the culvert duo, coal loaders, sawmills, etc.
This is only in the imagineering stage. I currently have a layout occupying this space and thought of making some changes to it, so I came up with this plan. The impetus was my recent purchase of two LC+ locos.
This layout is fine. The most important thing it has to have is a run around track so the engine has the ability to get to either end of the consist. This does.
My only question is are you going to need to be able to turn the engine around? Because there is no way to reverse on this layout.
I do suggest adding a couple of more Spurs. One facing in opposite directions along that long back straight away. You could run this very much like a timesaver layout. I would just have two more spots to have cars so you'd have more options than three. It is a very good layout.

John, wouldn't the locomotive be able to run around the consist, albeit short, on the passing siding at the front ( bottom of picture ) ?
The long open space between the back straightaway and the two long spurs is prime real estate for some operating accessories. Not sure if I want to encroach on the space.
