I see it as a way to interact with your engines. Just like having signals that stop you or having lowering gates. Just lets you do more than watch the train go round and round

Just like Crew Talk there will be some who declare it the stupidest thing ever, but no one says you have to use it . Not like your engine blows up when you run the water dry and you are 20 ft short  of the water tower (though that would be a cool effect)

Just have fun with it and don't use it it it bugs you

This is one of the features that is making me try to work sensor track into my 2014 budget.  I really enjoy having a sense of purpose when I play with my trains.  When I got the Legacy Southern Crescent, I bought a coal tower kit and a water column (because the engine makes fill up noises).

It is great to have sound and an accessory that work together.  Adds to the value of both.  That is how i feel about the fuel guage.  Running low! time to fill up - use more sounds - use more accessories.  Win win!

PA: I will check on this, something to try - stop the loco over the sensor track and see if the gauge registers.  Run at speed step 1, until you see the green light come on solid then stop, the Green LED on solid indicates the sensor track is receiving info.  LMK if the fuel registers.

The Hybrid manual does not list the sound feature of when pressing

the 3 key, there is the crew talk and sound of filling the fuel tank.

The horn blows many times.

The fuel gage shows zero.

The manual for the MR S3 has the sound feature of filling water and coal

and the horn only sounds a single time. The water and fuel gages show full.

I was trying to see play with this feature. Didn't realize the gauge button IS the gauge, doesn't actually bring a gauge to the bigger screen, so I thought it was broken. Also noticed the in the manual (see image below) but I have no idea what the <engineer key> is. How do I trigger this fuel announcement?

Tonight i will see if the gauge button goes down as I run the train.
