Hotel room I'm not too concerned about. For my first time attending back in April 2012 I actually procrastinated right up until the week before the show and still had plenty of rooms to choose from at the Four Points behind the diner. I'll probably have everything booked by tonight and will report on what room availability looked like.

EDIT: Actually just got done with the hotel. Absolute cheapest and closest to the show option for 1 night was the Rodeway Inn at $80. We stayed at one for a Mecum Auto Auction once, was perfectly fine just to hang our heads for a few nights. Expedia.com seemed to show plenty of other choices still left, although the 1 king bed non-smoking rooms are indeed in short supply by now.

I did.

Clearly says:

1) Cloudy with occasional Hudsons

2) Mostly Standard Gauge in the afternoon with a chance of Postwar

3) 100% chance of participation

4) A shower, on Friday, of military vehicles on flat cars followed by clearing of wallets.

If you want completely accurate weather information, ask the weatherman what it was like yesterday.

No more excuses for missing club meetings!

We'll be looking for you at York.

Loaded the large trailer yesterday.  Pulled-out (5) modules that need minor repair before loading is complete.   Some track repair, ballast re-do, and scenery touch-up.  Should be 99% ready by the end of this week. There are over 40 modules ready for transportation.
Last of the module upgrades.
Ballast upgrade,(2) modules.  I believe this is a base module used for the Scenic Express display.

Repair doors on the Korber 304 house.  Build a box for the TT bridge.  The bridge is removed from the Turntable module, on break-down, and shipped separately.

Power up and trouble shoot the (2) Time Saver modules.  Zack, Dave, (Correction/add), Matt, Steve, Bob, Anthony, Dan, Tom, and the club have done a wonderful job of up-grading these two very old modules.   With a little luck the control panel will be available to the public. You can test your operation skills.

Track Repair on the (5) track to (4) track cross over module.  May be build a couple of sets of spare legs?
Ready
We will be in the White Hall.

There are, of course, 19 days remaining until the actual York Meet begins on Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April, April 26.

Eddie G. begins his "York Week" on the previous Sunday when there are virtually no events going on aside from some early arrivals pulling into hotel parking lots (fun or interesting to watch for some, I suppose?).

And, of course, one can spend Monday and Tuesday wandering through what's left of the former bandit meets at various venues around town--all of which have been significantly diminished in recent years, and some are gone altogether.

Wednesday, however can be a fun day for those who venture over to Strasburg for the TCA HQ & Museum open house, which includes manufacturer presentations and other activities, as well as a chance to spend the day in a town loaded to the gills with railroading-type activities and places.

Then it's on to noon on Thursday when the "serious stuff" begins.

So for those who have never attended the meet, don't feel that you have to grab your toothbrush just yet and get ready to hit the road.  You still have ample time!
