I'm contemplating attending the Feb. 1-2 show this year, but have never attended before.  While I know that it is no York, wanted to know in particular how it compares to Greenberg's.  Last Greenberg Show I attended in Chantilly, VA was disappointing.  Thought there were more toys than trains.  Also, does the Timonium have a strong O scale showing or is it predominantly HO and N scale?  I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I attended in the Spring and was somewhat disappointed in the O scale showing. Tons of HO and N scale items. What is even more disappointing is Timonium is right in MTH's backyard yet they don't have a presence at the show. I would still go... you might get lucky and find a nice item.  BTW.... if you are into old Lionel items... very good place to pick up some oldies but goodies.

I have attended at least 6 of them. Seven years ago, there was very little "O", and few modular layouts. I went mainly for scenic stuff, and to see some beatiful models of buildings, etc.. Although I have not attended for a few years, the show had become larger (moved to a larger building as well), with much more "O" (maybe not as much as you would like), and MANY modular layouts. I no longer go because I don't "need" anything, plus it's almost a 2-hour drive for me (in good traffic).

While this show was initially set up many years ago to be a scale only show .... mostly HO and N at the time, it has grown substantially in its O selections.  AND yes it is mostly HO still.  There is however a good amount of O at the fall and winter shows.  Lots of scenery vendors too .... Scenic Express, Crusader Rail, Harrison Trains with Fusion Fiber & Scenery Building Demos, Rons Books, and more.  Lots of club layouts as well with O and S layouts being represented well in the fall and winter.  The April show is hit or miss and I never attend the summer show due to my being out of town.... so I can't vouch for that one.

I've found that even when the Great Scale Show is a bit lean on O it still beats anything that Greenberg has had at Timonium..... at the least the seveal that I've gone too.  I personally don't attend Greenberg shows anymore due to consistant dissapointment... heavy on toys light on O gauge trains.

While The Great Scale Show is nowhere like York ( afterall what is ) I've made some fabulous finds for great prices there over the years ... all modern equipment finds too!

There are also several post war vendors at the Great Scale Show for anyone collecting from that era.

I'd recommend attending The Great Scale Show on Feb 1 or 2.  I am.
