Hello Gents;
I am building a pike and have quite a few blocks, so I bought another TIU. It is revision L. My other TIU is a very early one that I've upgraded to the latest software revision. I got 2 of Scott's transient protectors and 8 magic lamps for the TIU outputs. The word seems to be that revision L does not need the lamps. So here are my choices as I see them:
- Put lamps on the old unit only
- Put lamps on both
- Forget the old TIU and only use the rev L w/o lamps
Any tech wisdom out there?
Gratefully,
Larry

I would put light bulbs on the old TIU only, there are filters that can be used in place of light bulbs but I don't have the info on them,
I use the star type wiring from distribution blocks and I have a light at each block.
do a signal test on the tracks through the MTH engines, you should have a minimum signal strength of 7.
I went back to one L TIU and am very happy with the result. I had bought the second one because I needed a large number of blocks (due to removable track) some distance from the first TIU. I later found out from Barry's book that I could use a remote terminal block. That worked quite well with the rev L.

Also, it is possible my Rev. I3A has an issue that needed to be corrected for it to function truly properly.
