TMCC Galloping Goose

I was thinking of converting a goose to TMCC and found this post.

Would you have any internal photos or any other info to help me with the conversion.

I don't have pictures, but it's not difficult.  The electronics and motors are in the rear, and there was plenty of room.  This was a PS/1 unit, so it had a pretty large board set already in there.  It also already has a speaker provision.  I used the existing 4 pin tether to run the cab and headlights.  I forget the exact sound set I used, it was one that sounded the best for the task.

Thanks, it just seemed it needed a command conversion.  People marvel that there was actually a prototype of this.

How did you go about replacing the headlights with LEDs?

I snaked the wire under the fenders.  It actually wasn't that hard to do.

I guess I should of clarified.  I've got a steam locomotive I'm going to have apart soon to do some maintenance and upgrades too.  While in it, I want to replace the weak headlamp with a LED.  It's an old MTH PS-1 locomotive.

That will be different, depending on which MTH locomotive it is.  Some of them have track powered lights, others have 1.5V bulbs.  For track powered bulbs, just use the white (or warm white) LED, a 680 ohm resistor, and a 1N4005 diode all in series.  That connects directly to track power.

Well, I have a couple of other locomotives in front of it for work, so I'm sure you'll see a thread start once I get it open and see what it's got.  Thanks.
