So I'm tinkering with my layout and decided to replace a switch. In replacing a switch, I thought, maybe I could create a small siding that would rejoin the main line. My only problem, is that the siding would be relatively small. I believe I could fit my SW-9 and a car, maybe two, on the siding. I placed an SD 40-2 on the rail in the pic and it pretty much takes up all the space. So my question is: Is it worth it? I don't have any other siding on this layout, just a four track yard, an engine yard and loops. So I'm torn. Looking for a little guidance.
The pic here is where the siding would be. You can see in the background where I removed the Gargraves switch. I want to put a Ross there. I could squeeze another switch in the foreground just at the end of the curve.
The alternative, for me, would be to take that siding track out and put in scenery.
