I am using Atlas track along with Atlas track screws (5/8") on top of cork underlayment and cork roadbed (1/2"). The cork and track are about 3/4". Does the track screw have go into the plywood or will the cork hold it?
I use Atlas O track and track screws on 3/16" cork roadbed atop extruded pink foam. Track screws have held firmly in cork during 7 years of operation. If a screw ever loosens up, I will put some yellow carpenter's onto the screw threads, reinstall, and see if that holds. Ballast only outside of track ties.
